I got rid of Netflix for a few months because I was too busy writing newsletters to watch it, but now I’ve renewed my subscription because I heard this season of Stranger Things was inspired by the Satanic Panic, and I’m into that.
I’ve only watched the first couple of episodes so no spoilers please. Hey meanwhile please enjoy this sign I saw on the front of a Baptist church in inner-city Sydney today.

Bishop David William Parry describes himself as “a spiritual leader with a unique passion through his love and advocacy of Queer Culture, Anthroposophy, White Magic, Christian Anarchism, and Revolutionary Entrepreneurship.” He’s also an “independent Catholic priest” — as you might imagine, not in communion with Rome.
He also has a TikTok account, and has this to say about being a Minion — it’s very theologically astutue.
